Hi Community 👋🏻,lately, I have published a video about AI features for software testers on my channel: In the video, I am presenting current AI features software testers can already use. I was wondering if you use any of the mention tools in your environment, and what are your experiences with them? Also, I would be interested if you use already other AI tools or features on a daily basis. I am really curious to see your comments on this topic, since AI is (from my point of view) a topic that is disrupting many industries similar to the smartphones have done from 2007 onwards.Have a great day!Best,Daniel
What software tool or application has had the biggest impact on your productivity or daily life, and why? How did you discover it, and what specific features make it indispensable for you?
What do you call the amount of memory that a generative AI can hold at any time?
What's the most unexpected or unique problem you've ever encountered while developing or using software, and how did you solve it?
Since starting at ShiftSync, I’ve seen many people with experience in different fields and different backgrounds. I wanted to ask the community- How did you end up where you are today? What led up to this point in your career? I worked in several different industries before arriving at tech. English teaching, insurance, craft beer. Eventually I took a programming bootcamp and have been in the tech industry ever since. What are all your stories??
Whether you’re a tester, software developer, or elsewhere in the tech industry, we all know that technology (and AI in particular) have seen a big jump over the past couple years. Many have understandably had concerns with retaining relevant skills as we move further and further into uncharted territory. What steps have you taken to help ensure your place in your line of work is secure? Are the fears of artificial replacement overblown? Is there anything you think we should prepare for?
After some of the things I’ve read from people in the forum, I’m curious- what do you think makes a good tester? What sort of qualities and traits should someone have if they want to get into testing? Can anyone do it or does it take a certain type of person?
Hello,I'm a college student, trying to gather more and more knowledge about test automation with AI. That's why I chose Testim, but my free trial expired already, so I can't try all the AI-powered functionalities Testim can offer. My question is, if it's possible to run a web-app over localhost in Testim, to which I've implemented mutation tests? I'm aware that in the free plan there's only the Testim cloud grid, but still I'd love to reproduce the auto improve functionality of this Testool with my error-filled local code of the web-app. I've written tests with the localhost's URL as the starting point (my server built with Node.js and Express and gets run before the automated tests), but instead of the auto improved steps I get a warning that the locators have significantly changed. That's not quite the auto improve behaviour I'm looking for or the one displayed in the documentation. Would someone be nice enough to lend me some of their thoughts on the matter and how I could trigger th
Hi There, I would like to hear from the industry experts based on their experience into software test automation, what are the key responsibilities of a Test Architect in automation projects? Looking forward to an interesting conversation and inputs 😀
Can anyone provide an example of how to validate data in an Excel sheet downloaded via a TestIM test case?I viewed the example provided here, but it only shows the means to extract the number of sheets in the spreadsheet and the title of the sheets, it does not provide an example of how to retrieve values from a cell (the value at cell A3 of the sheet) for example?I’m rather new at creating custom actions so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I know it is hard to find the time to do extra work after work but do you have any side projects at the moment or plan on starting any? You can also write if you started a side project and never finished ( I know I had a few of those). I am really curios to see if people still do IT related content after work or if they do somenthing else. If you want I can even start: I try to post on my youtube channel at least once a week but it does show that I do not invest that much time in there at the moment.
what are the possible steps you think a beginner in testing career can take after completing academic training in manual testing?
With the increase in remote work and online services, cybersecurity has become more critical than ever. Did it have any impact on your work?Did your company add new security guidelines?Has it made you more aware of security risk? What are you thoughts on the matter?
DevOps ways of working are designed to both accelerate the flow of work and simultaneously improve the quality, reliability and scalability of digital products. But research data suggests this hasn’t yet worked for everyone and that the majority of organisations are stalling in their implementations, unable to reach higher levels of capability. Where are you at with DevOps in your organization? Is it everything you hoped it would be? (Best answer wins a copy of Investments Unlimited!)
Can I ask how the community handles Date Pickers? The GenerateDate action function doesn’t work for me because the field expects the user to select day, month and year from the date picker dialogue box. Date Pickers are commonplace so I can’t be the first to face this challenge, but I can’t find an answer anywhere?Thank you for any help you can offer. John

What do you spend more time doing during a day?Writing new tests? Fixing old tests?
Hey everyone, so I have a question for all of you. Recently, I have started my first ever Meetup group and before that I already went to couple of developer meetups, but I was wondering what do usually expect on the Meetups you are attending (two standard talks + networking afterwards or just one longer presentation)? Also are there any testing Meetups you are attending/enjoying?
Hi Community, I would like to know how the security testing is performed and Is there any tools whichis used to scan the code and identify the vulnerabilities in the code.
As the title states, what books would you recommend for one to read to improve in the field of testing ? These could be both technical and non-techincal. I saw in one reply that James Bach recommends looking into: Epistemology Philosophy/History of Science Sociology/Psychology Cognitive Science Rhetoric/Critical Analysis Certain branches of mathematics: statistics, set theory, discrete mathematics, combinatorics.Any suggestions regarding any of the above mentioned topics ? Thanks in advance :)

Hello Community!I’m Paul, Head of Incubation under the Office of Strategy here at Tricentis. We have been working on an initiative called “Quality Engineering Perspectives”, a collection of topic articles and eventually subject-matter curated sections that provide vendor-neutral opinionated perspectives (see where the name comes from?) on how to develop, support, and improve Quality Engineering culture in organizations. We would love for you to contribute, either content or even just feedback, about our endeavor here. The goal is to provide useful educational material scoped to quality engineering for practitioners, managers, even executives. Since the appetite for detail is diverse across these audiences, each article summarizes and then digs a bit deeper on pros/cons, but isn’t to get too far into the technical nitty-gritty or hands-on how-to details. If you have even 15-30 minutes, we’d be more than happy to discuss one-on-one with you how you might contribute to this work.
