Queries related to LDAP/ SSO / User Management in Tosca

Hi Team,

We are currently using Tosca 2025.1. At present, we create users manually in Tosca Commander under the User Management section and enable them so they can access the Multi-User Workspace and the respective projects.

We are now planning to migrate to TUA (Tricentis User Administration) in Tosca Server and are evaluating authentication options such as LDAP and SSO.

While reviewing the Tosca 2025.1 documentation, we noticed that LDAP user identification directly from Tosca Commander is planned for deprecation in a future release. However, we are unsure whether our current setup is actually using LDAP authentication or not.

Our current understanding is:

• Users are manually created in Tosca Commander under user management section using their company network IDs.
• Once enabled in User Management, they can access the Multi-User Workspace.
• We have also noticed that the LDAP Authentication setting under:
  • Tosca Commander → Project → Options → Advanced → LDAP Authentication is enabled.

We would appreciate help in understanding the following:

1. Based on the above setup, are we currently using LDAP authentication, SSO authentication, or neither?
2. Does manually creating users in Tosca Commander with their network IDs automatically imply LDAP integration, or is additional LDAP configuration required?
3. What is the recommended migration approach to TUA?
   • LDAP integration with Active Directory groups and user synchronization?
   • SSO-based authentication?
   • A combination of LDAP and SSO?
4. What are the best practices for migrating from the current Tosca Commander User Management approach to TUA while ensuring minimal disruption to existing users and workspaces?

Any guidance or recommendations from teams that have gone through a similar migration would be greatly appreciated.
