Hi Community,I have RTB libaries in a deeper structure. The RTBs have business parameters. When I pass down business parameters,to deeper levels the parameters arrive as NULL in some test plans.D you know whats amiss here? For example:I have a parameter “Role” and want to pass it on to a sub-RTB like this:Scenario A:I pass the parameter down as {PL[Role]}Issue: The parameter arrives as a NULL value Scenario B:I pass the parameter down as {PL[Role]}. On level 2 (RTB 2) I copy the parameter to a buffer variable and pass on the value as {B[Role]}This works.Regards    Florian

I would like to implement access restrictions for certain test cycles and defects (bugs) within  qTest Manager. The goal is to limit access to specific test cycles and bugs to designated users, ensuring that each team member only has visibility of relevant information pertaining to their responsibilities. Could you please provide guidance on how to configure user permissions to achieve this level of access control effectively?Thank you

Hello , I’m interested in automating the generation of reports immediately following the completion of a test cycle automated execution. Specifically, I would like to automatically generate a report as soon as a test cycle is concluded and have it sent to designated users via email. Could you please advise  on how to configure this automated reporting functionality within qTest?Thank you

I work in an organisation where some domains we think are doing OK. They are CD, YBIYRI, product teams delivering to production in some instances multiple times a day.In other domains they have not really even started on that journey. They are projects not products and follow a more siloed, phased, document heavy way of working. We have a mandate to help these other domains on their journey to CD.We do however want to be sure we are safe to scale. We traditionally have only used trailing metrics (e.g. DORA) which tell us how we DID. We have a gut feel that as we scale we may need metrics that are more leading (e.g. measuring engineering signals like code complexity or, dare I say it, code coverage) which tell us how we ARE DOING.We think we are aware of the usual gotchas in measurement and so our measurement principles include things like: don't measure individuals but teams, don't set arbitrary targets, don't use metrics to judge across teams but to help each team have better evidence-

How do you stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in software testing?

Hi All,Is there anyone who have used Condition under RTB via business parameter where data is coming form TDS?

What are three main considerations to help determine what you should be automating for a load test, especially integrated load tests? To find out the answer, join my session today. I have three things that you can use to filter out unnecessary business processes and limit the scope of the testing to only what you need.  Register at:  Thanks,Scott

In the digital age, passwords have become the first line of defense against cyber threats.Yet, many of us still fall into the trap of using weak and easily guessable passwords. But how easy is it to make a password, you just have to follow the password rules, right? Well…how good are you at following rules?  Have a look at the above video and try the followingWell first try to actually beat the game :) Write in the comment if you were stuck Write how you found the answer to the different rulesWould you use such a password in your daily life?

In this short video, @IOan provides a concise introduction to accessibility testing, offering clear explanations and key insights.Everything may seem correct at first glance, but Ioan reveals that appearances can be deceiving. Stay tuned as we explore why accessibility testing is crucial, what areas you can test, and how to get started with it. Let's dive into the world of software inclusivity!

Having recently concluded our webinar with David Colwell (link below) I thought it would be good to get opinions from the community about the role of testing in an industry that is rapidly incorporating AI. What do you guys think things are going to look like moving forward? We’re in the early stages of AI integration, but I’m sure everyone expects huge changes over the next few years, and definitely decades. My biggest question is are there any major changes you think will take place that the average person isn’t thinking about? Do you have any hot takes on AI and the way it’s impacting testing and software development? The closest thing I have to a hot take is that I think the AI explosion may end up being more of a sigmoid curve than continual exponential growth:  We’ve seen huge development throughout 2023 with generative AI, but I think it’s possible we see a sort of cooling period instead of the insane jump we saw this year. What do you think? Don’t forget to check out the webina

Hi All,Has anyone integrated ai with testing as for testing the video we would need to use python with deeplearning algorithm. Thanks,Harish n

The general public often conflates various skill sets and abilities found in the tech industry. Many seem to think that in order to be a tester (or to fit in anywhere in the tech sector) you need to know how to code. I myself have found that regardless of what role you’re in, basic knowledge of code and some of its fundamental principles help serve just about any position in a tech environment. It may not be necessary to write or execute in every role, but having some degree of familiarity with how things work under the hood is often helpful in the day-to-day encounters in the field. What do you think? How much coding knowledge does your role require? And are there areas in tech where you don’t think it’s necessary?

The talk of the town, ChatGPT, can provide some benefits for testing activities, but its effectiveness in speeding up the testing process or generating test cases will depend on the specific use case and the quality of the input data provided to it. While people do not want to miss the train, but they have to very clear where and how they should use AI. In my opinion, ChatGPT can help in testing in following ways: Test data generation: ChatGPT can be used to generate synthetic test data based on specific scenarios or requirements. For instance, it can generate test data that simulates specific user interactions or system responses to validate the functionality of a software application. Test case generation: ChatGPT can be used to generate test cases based on specific requirements or test scenarios. However, the effectiveness of this approach will depend on the quality of the input data provided to the model and the level of detail required for the test cases. Test script automatio

I’ve been wondering lately how much crossover there is in the technologies that testers use. Is the software you use specific to your company, or is it more broad/general use? What have you seen in the industry or in your experience?
