What We Recently Released

Tosca 2024.2 introduces enhancements that simplify Tosca On-prem upgrades, support seamless Tosca Cloud transitions, and expand automation capabilities. With an automated upgrade process for Tocsa Server that reduces downtime from hours to minutes and bulk transition features for moving test cases to Tosca’s cloud platform, teams can scale effortlessly while unlocking efficiencies. Expanded mobile testing, QR/barcode recognition, and advanced TBox array operations are among the highlights driving innovation in test automation.

For Testim, the new Enhanced Mode for Mobile Testing redefines stability and performance. It provides unmatched support for React Native and Flutter frameworks, hybrid apps, and native applications. With faster scanning and zero-knowledge test recording, Enhanced Mode reduces maintenance and accelerates test creation, offering teams a seamless experience across complex mobile applications.

What’s Next?

Looking ahead, we are focused on enhancing Tosca Cloud to support cloud-first strategies for modern enterprises. Key developments include:

  • Cloud Commander: A SaaS-based test case creation and editing tool, enabling streamlined workflows, cross-platform editing, and effortless collaboration.
  • Elastic Execution Agent: A next-gen agent for scalable, parallel test execution with cloud technology.
  • Cloud Dashboards and Reporting: Pre-built, lightweight dashboards for tracking quality KPIs and project health.
  • API Playground Enhancements: Real-time feedback and visual verification tools for API tests.

For Testim, improvements in locator stability are on the way. A vision locator capability will enhance element identification by combining visual and structural data. Other features like timeout controls and image-based stability checks will further refine test reliability.

Looking Ahead

In the longer term, we are pioneering Autonomous Test Case Creation in Tosca, using advanced AI to generate test cases with minimal manual intervention. This transformative feature will debut with SAP Fiori applications and gradually expand to other technologies, including web, desktop, and mobile.

Simultaneously, we plan to extend Autonomous Testing capabilities to Testim, covering diverse application types.

In the realm of Quality Intelligence, the seamless integration of SeaLights with Tosca and Testim will elevate Tricentis’ Quality Intelligence capabilities, enabling smarter and more efficient testing practices throughout the SDLC.
