Hi Community 👋🏻,lately, I have published a video about AI features for software testers on my channel:  In the video, I am presenting current AI features software testers can already use. I was wondering if you use any of the mention tools in your environment, and what are your experiences with them? What software tool or application has had the biggest impact on your productivity or daily life, and why? How did you discover it, and what specific features make it indispensable for you?

Having recently concluded our webinar with David Colwell (link below) I thought it would be good to get opinions from the community about the role of testing in an industry that is rapidly incorporating AI. What do you guys think things are going to look like moving forward? We’re in the early stages of AI integration, but I’m sure everyone expects huge changes over the next few years, and definitely decades. My biggest question is are there any major changes you think will take place that the average person isn’t thinking about? Do you have any hot takes on AI and the way it’s impacting testing and software development? The closest thing I have to a hot take is that I think the AI explosion may end up being more of a sigmoid curve than continual exponential growth:  We’ve seen huge development throughout 2023 with generative AI, but I think it’s possible we see a sort of cooling period instead of the insane jump we saw this year. What do you think? Don’t forget to check out the webina

What's the most unexpected or unique problem you've ever encountered while developing or using software, and how did you solve it?

The general public often conflates various skill sets and abilities found in the tech industry. Many seem to think that in order to be a tester (or to fit in anywhere in the tech sector) you need to know how to code. I myself have found that regardless of what role you’re in, basic knowledge of code and some of its fundamental principles help serve just about any position in a tech environment. It may not be necessary to write or execute in every role, but having some degree of familiarity with how things work under the hood is often helpful in the day-to-day encounters in the field. What do you think? How much coding knowledge does your role require? And are there areas in tech where you don’t think it’s necessary? 

Since starting at ShiftSync, I’ve seen many people with experience in different fields and different backgrounds. I wanted to ask the community- How did you end up where you are today? What led up to this point in your career? I worked in several different industries before arriving at tech. English teaching, insurance, craft beer. Eventually I took a programming bootcamp and have been in the tech industry ever since. What are all your stories??

After some of the things I’ve read from people in the forum, I’m curious- what do you think makes a good tester? What sort of qualities and traits should someone have if they want to get into testing? Can anyone do it or does it take a certain type of person?

Hi There, I would like to hear from the industry experts based on their experience into software test automation, what are the key responsibilities of a Test Architect in automation projects? Looking forward to an interesting conversation and inputs 😀

I know it is hard to find the time to do extra work after work but do you have any side projects at the moment or plan on starting any? You can also write if you started a side project and never finished ( I know I had a few of those). I am really curios to see if people still do IT related content after work or if they do somenthing else. If you want I can even start: I try to post on my youtube channel at least once a week but it does show that I do not invest that much time in there at the moment.

What would be considered the similiarities and differences between DevOps and DevSecOps. Will DevSecOps replace DevOps in future?

Can I ask how the community handles Date Pickers? The GenerateDate action function doesn’t work for me because the field expects the user to select day, month and year from the date picker dialogue box. Date Pickers are commonplace so I can’t be the first to face this challenge, but I can’t find an answer anywhere?Thank you for any help you can offer. John

For me, it’s cycling to and from work - it only takes me like 10 minutes, but I wouldn’t change that for the world. I also spend a significant part of my day (2-3 hours/day) in different parks/playgrounds/woods playing/walking with my son and when the night falls I like to either grab a good book, watch some tv or play HOMM3 :) I used to train kickboxing, but after partially tearing ligaments in my left knee some years ago I’ve put a pause on that activity - am planning to get back to it :)  So, what do you do to vent off / relax after work ? 

As the title states, what books would you recommend for one to read to improve in the field of testing ? These could be both technical and non-techincal.  I saw in one reply that James Bach recommends looking into: Epistemology Philosophy/History of Science Sociology/Psychology Cognitive Science Rhetoric/Critical Analysis Certain branches of mathematics: statistics, set theory, discrete mathematics, combinatorics.Any suggestions regarding any of the above mentioned topics ?  Thanks in advance :) 

Not all tests actually test. The fact that you have 1000 tests in your test suite does not mean that if they all green that your application does not have bugs. Confused? Curios?
