"We're about to start a huge project. We'll look into automation after it's done."

Reality:

This is the perfect time. Research shows that the biggest cost savings come from reusing test assets. By building tests correctly at the start of a major project, you create a reusable library.

An enterprise study revealed that reusing 1,000+ test cases in a future upgrade led to an ROI of over 370%. Implementing automation after the project means you've already done all that work manually, and will have to redo it later at double the cost.

Moral: The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is at the start of a big project.
