We are excited to present this month challenge created by the Scott Moore @loadtester, a professional with over 30 years of IT experience across diverse platforms and technologies. Scott is not only an active writer, speaker, and influencer. His expertise spans software engineering, performance, digital experience, Observability, DevSecOps, and AIOps.

Challenge Overview:

1.👉🏻Choose Your Web Application:

Select a web application for which you have permission and security access to automate a business process and monitor the backend infrastructure (web server, database server, etc.).

2.💻Create an Automated Business Process:

Craft an automated business process, ranging from simple to complex. The process should include at least three business transaction timings.

3.✍🏻Record Two Identical Scripts:

Script 1: Utilize the RealBrowser protocol.

Script 2: Leverage the traditional HTTP/Web protocol.

4.📃Execute a Load Test:

Run a small load test with fewer than 10 virtual users, spanning up to 15 minutes. This will provide valuable insights into transaction times.

5.*👉🏻 Evaluate Tricentis NeoLoad on Gartner Peer Insights:

Help your peers find the best solution. Start review here.

Things to keep in mind:

  • Reviews are anonymous.
  • Personal emails are not accepted by Gartner Peer Insights. Use your business email or sign in with LinkedIn.
  • Keep your review relevant and do not mention specific individuals.
  • All submissions are reviewed by Gartner to ensure validity.

Why the Timing Discrepancies?

Upon reviewing the test results, you'll likely observe differences in transaction times between the RealBrowser and HTTP/Web scripts. Your task is to explain these discrepancies and understand the underlying factors contributing to them.

Key Questions to Address:

  • Why do transaction times differ between the two scripts?
  • What impact does the choice of protocol have on the overall performance?
  • How do RealBrowser and HTTP/Web protocols interact with the backend infrastructure during the automated process?

Sharing Your Results:

We encourage participants to share their findings in the comments section below. Alternatively, if you're more comfortable, you can send your detailed report to shiftsync@tricentis.com. To ensure your submission is considered, please add a comment stating that you have submitted the report via email.

Prizes and Points:

🏆 Winner: Personalized Certificate of Achievement signed by Scott, +300 points, a badge, and a gift from us.

🌟 All Participants: +150 points for your valuable contribution to the challenge.

The challenge will last one week. The winners will be announced on Jan.24.

How to Participate:

  • Choose your web application.
  • Develop your automated business process.
  • Record and execute scripts using RealBrowser and HTTP/Web protocols.
  • Conduct a load test and analyze the results.

Nice way of promoting NeoLoad capabilities.

Just got basic idea that NeoLoad is designed by picking best of LoadRunner and Jmeter features alongside having an integrated monitoring feature.

let us see how this works.
